About this project
BRH traveled to Des Moines to assess dozens of sculptures, monuments, fountains, and cannon located on the grounds of the state capitol. The works of art ranged from recent installations comprised of aluminum, plexiglass, and stainless steel to early stone and bronze castings of the late 1800’s.
Our survey documented the current condition, developed conservation treatment recommendations. We prioritized treatments based on our investigations and curatorial input. BRH also provided anticipated cost estimates for budgetary planning, and provided annual maintenance guidelines to ensure that proper care is given.
