About this project
A federal government agency contracted with BRH to conserve several textiles, flags, and objects that they were looking to display inside their museum which is not currently open to the public.
What we did
The Major W. J. Donovan Eisenhower’s jacket and neck scarf were vacuumed with a variable speed vacuum with HEPA filter. A mount and base was created to support the jacket. A historically accurate shirt and tie were provided by the curator to replace the grey neck scarf on the mount. The missing device on the Croix de Guerre ribbon was replaced with a palm provided by the curator. A label with the accession number was sewn on the inside of the jacket on the proper right at the waist. The treatment was documented before and after with photography and reports in accordance with AIC Guidelines before the jacket was returned and installed.
